A small cafe by the docks near the university area. During the summer they open 2 outdoor popups - Hinoki (Japanese bbq food truck) and Heave Ho (cocktails). Me and my husband tried something from all their menus. What I loved: 1. Bun and butter (Saint Bread) - 2 hawaiin rolls with butter and some crunchy furikake stuff. I woii I do order this again! 2. Jasmine tea profiteroles (Saint Bread) - these made for a perfect dessert! The flavor was aromatic, came with marigold petals and mint leaves and some peaches to go with it. We packed another one to go, to make our friends taste it. 3. Sweet potato/ edamame (Hinoki) - I wish they had better descriptions of what you're going to get. Their veggie options had stuff listed, but you wouldn't know in what form you'll get it. This one came in a patty form and was delicious. Was a small serving though. If I knew I would've ordered more. I got this with rice and pickles. The pickles were a great side, the rice was random with it (I was expecting grilled veggies tbh) 4. Pork belly - my husband got this and it was recommended by them. It was good! 5. Mezcal Margarita and Seasons Change (Berry shrub cocktail with rosemary) Both the cocktails were delicious! What I didn't like: Fries with animal sauce (Saint bread) - this comes with some sort of thousand island sauce and caramelized onions. Not my thing. Also a big plate, good for sharing.

Never thought I'd say this, but I'm falling in love with Seattle's bakery scene and places like Saint Bread are the reason why. The space is tucked in between Portage Bay and UW and has ample seating with three big patios. The line was quite long and not surprisingly so because everything I ordered was delicious. I got the breakfast sandwich with arabiki turkey sausage which was on a beautiful Hawaiian bun and had a perfect amount of sauce. I also ordered the cardamom twist (which was the best I ever had) and the gochu-doodle which blew my mind with its sweet/spicy/savory flavor combo. They also serve Proud Mary coffee and I need to mention again they are my favorite roaster from Portland and Australia so I love seeing them in more shops. Overall the service was quick, food was captivating, and brace yourself for a long line!

Excited to finally try this spot! It's very picturesque and cute especially since it's located along the water. Lines can get a bit long on the weekends. We ordered at the register, got a number, and found some nice covered patio seating. Food: + hojicha latte - very tasty and perfect on a chilly morning + burger - 3/5 - I actually didn't care for this. The taste was alright but for $10 our burger barely had any meat, I think they were going for the smashed burger concept but our meat was more like beef crisp. + potato salad - 1/5 - didn't like the flavor at all. It was odd + doubutsu fries - 5/5 - loved these + chocolate chip cookie - 4/5 - pretty solid cookie + coffee cake - 2/5 - when cold since it was kind of dry but we took it home and heated it up and it became a 5/5 for us! Overall, I heard a lot of hype about this spot and it was just ok for me. Definitely scenic but the food fell a little short

I had heard rave reviews about this place so I had to try it out! The ambience is to me the biggest draw. Right up against the water and with plants around, it's really a beautiful place. There can be long lines at lunchtime, so plan ahead. The servers are usually friendly and accommodating. The food is decent, the breads and pastries are worth coming for, but the actual filling of the burger was decent, but not worth all the hype. I would recommend coming for coffee and pastries rather than lunch to maximize your experience.
